Animal Health Management Through Biotechnology

I Research (continued)

Activity II: Demand for animal health services: at the sites, at new sites (1995)

Problem Statement and Approach

Estimation of the impact of vaccine utilization at the farm level (adoption rates) for both commercial and small farmers, and understanding of the farmer's willingness to pay for health services are necessary to design a comprehensive and effective program of Health delivery. Assess use of alternative herd health management strategies employed by farmers.

Progress

This activity was contingent on identification of additional funds to develop and apply a questionnaire and collect data outside the impact assessment sites. The SR-CRSP funds remaining from the previous year were utilized to support the monitoring activities. This activity was not carried out, but now with collaboration of Veterinary Field Services and Washington State University will be carried out in sites where CCPP is endemic.
